1. Be part of a highly respected community

Estimates suggest there are over 100,000 paralegals in England alone. More and more of these are joining NALP. Our members are proud to be paralegals, and we are proud to support them and advocate on their behalf.

2. Keep up to date with the latest sector news

NALP members receive our regular newsletter and engage in our LinkedIn page to maintain awareness and discuss the implications of what is happening in English Law. Join and be part of the conversation, adding your views and learning from others too.

3. The National Paralegal Register

Whether you are looking for a new employed role, or actively looking for clients, the National Paralegal Register is where you can showcase your skills, experience and qualifications and enable employers, consumers and businesses to see that you are a recognised NALP member.

4. 1-2-1 consultations

Every member receives (on request) a consultation with one of our senior team offering advice and guidance on being a paralegal. If you have your own practice, maybe you’d like suggestions on how you could improve your marketing or PR. If you’re looking to progress your career, maybe you’d like to discuss the options available to you and how to pursue the goals you’ve set.

5. Licence to Practise

If you are offering services direct to the public a Licence to Practise will help you stand out. Help new or potential clients to feel confident about engaging your services by letting them know you have been vetted by NALP, have the qualifications and/or experience they need, and that you are proud to be part of the UK’s oldest paralegal membership body. NALP’s Licence to Practise will help you get noticed and give clients added confidence.

6. Monthly webinars

Join our monthly webinars on a variety of subjects important to paralegals. Each month’s topic is designed to help you with your paralegal career. If you cannot attend live, we record them and make the videos available on your member’s dashboard.

7. Top level training and qualifications

NALP qualifications are certified by Ofqual, meaning you can be sure they are top quality, deliver what they promise, are widely recognised, and are specifically designed to help you progress your paralegal career. Whether you are taking your first steps into the legal sector, wish to give your career a boost or have found an area of the law you’d like to specialise in, NALP’s qualifications are ideal.

8. Promote yourself

Get noticed by being published through NALP. We regularly publish articles on our website, and we speak with journalists daily. As a member, if you have a paralegal related topic you’d like to write about, we’d love to hear from you and showcase you on our site. We are also always keen to interview and feature members who are proud to be a paralegal.

9. Press and media activity

Be part of an organisation promoting the essential role that paralegals play within the legal sector. NALP’s articles are regularly published in the media, reaching many millions of people every year, and NALP spokespeople are often called by journalists to provide quotes and insight into the paralegal sector. All NALP’s PR activity is designed to ensure paralegals are given the voice and recognition they deserve. You can see some of it here.
