Route 2: Experiential Route

The experiential route requires a minimum 5 years relevant legal experience. Applicants should provide proof by way of reference letters. The experiential route is available for those who may not have a Level 6+ legal qualification but who have considerable relevant work experience.

This route requires a written submission that clearly demonstrates knowledge and understanding at a professional level in the field of law within which the candidate works, and a telephone or face to face interview.

A first-time application fee of £200 relates to processing and interview. However, on annual renewal, the fee will be £150 – please make payment of the first-time application fee before submitting your application form.

As a self-regulatory body for NALP Members, we are able to offer a Licence to Practise to our members with appropriate expertise. 

If you are a NALP Associate member (A.NALP), NALP Graduate (Grad.NALP), a NALP Fellow (F.NALP) or a NALP Principal Fellow (PF.NALP) with a minimum of 3 years experience and competency in the area(s) of law you may apply for our Licence to Practise.
