National Paralegal Day 2019 Lifts the Mood in Westminster

On March 14, we came together at the House of Commons to celebrate the inaugural National Paralegal Day with our members, partners, students and friends. It was a truly fantastic evening which gave us an opportunity to celebrate you – our loyal and inspiring paralegal members.

Our special guests included the Shadow Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice, Richard Burgon MP, and Fabian Hamilton MP, who both delivered inspirational speeches. According to Fabian Hamilton, it was ‘a real relief to be amongst the hardworking community of paralegals’ after a tough day in the office.

Amanda Hamilton, CEO of NALP presented seven NPD Awards to a group of outstanding NALP members.

The recipients of the first-ever NPD Awards were:

Deborah Brown – High Achiever

NALP Level 4 Diploma in Paralegal Studies 2018/19

Diane Finister – High Achiever

Congratulations to all the recipients!

The first National Paralegal Day celebrated in the UK seems to have piqued media interest, with The Times reporting on the occasion.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this evening so memorable!

We hope that in the years to come, NPD will be celebrated throughout the UK in recognition of the hard work of Britain’s paralegals. We at NALP certainly look forward to making this day an annual tradition.
