Looking for a Legal Internship? This role looks like a fantastic opportunity to gain experience working within the Legal team within a Fashion Brand. 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Legal Intern to join our Legal team at Jimmy Choo based in our London Head Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Legal department, working closely with the Paralegal to ensure that various administration duties are completed to a high standard with a focus on intellectual property, anti-counterfeiting, commercial contracts, property company secretarial and litigation work. 

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Intellectual Property

  • Design registrations and design patents, trademark certificates :keeping track of all trademark certificates, designs and ensuring that these are logged and filed 
  • Collating information from other departments to provide evidence of use for trademarks
     

Anti-counterfeiting work

  • Reviewing reports from our brand protection partners and completing action points where necessary
  • Preparation of standard witness statements in relation to customs and trading standards seizures 
     

Commercial contracts

  • Reviewing and updating franchise agreements and commercial contracts (formatting and making amendments under instruction
     

Company secretarial  

  • Assisting drafting of board minutes and arranging for signatureof such documents to ensure internal corporate governance /filing and maintenance of the statutory registers 
  • Updating the company secretarial database 
     

Property

  • Maintaining and updating the property leases database and liaising with our translation office where necessary 

Legal research

  • Conducting relevant legal research as requested 
  • Litigation
  • Assisting in the preparation and collection of all various documentation and evidence that might be required for possible proceedings involving Jimmy Choo 

Filing and general admin

  • Maintaining the relevant systems in place, including the legal safe, archiving, legal databases and the General Counsel’s office
  • Scanning and photocopying of various legal documents. Keeping Group up to date with contracts/minutes and preparing/reviewing contract approval forms 
  • Collection and sorting of the post. Arranging couriers, mail out and processing Fed-Ex 

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Legal work experience
  • Administration experience would be desirable
  • Law degree required/LPC preferable
  • Highlycompetent user of MS Office packages, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, oral and written
  • Confident team player
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, being flexible in approach to meet the requirements of the business
