This is an excellent opportunity for our Qualified Paralegals with their Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma.

You’ll join Shell UK’s Upstream legal team, based in Aberdeen. Headed by our Managing Counsel Upstream UK. The team covers a wide variety of work including joint venture, project development, regulatory, M&A, gas sales/transportation and exploration.

What’s the role?

As a paralegal, you’ll be supporting a legal team of 8 lawyers on a refreshing variety of work. A key focus will be handling third party licence transfers, reviewing correspondence and Novation and Execution Deed documents and liaising internally, with co-venturers and with LOGIC Oil & Gas UK. The role will also include legal research, managing legal records, updating agreement bibles and liaising with external claim handlers.

The successful candidate will have strong personal drive and the ability to maintain resilience when managing a varied workload sometimes under pressure. Beyond that, there’s scope to contribute to improving processes and shaping the way we work for the better. All in all, it’s a rewarding, highly visible role.

It’s an ideal step forward into a busy Oil & Gas law environment for someone with a degree/diploma in legal studies or an equivalent paralegal qualification such as NALP Paralegal practice award. Alternatively, you could join us with a postgraduate paralegal diploma or a Law Degree.
